A #paleo week: Day 2

Day two of my paleo week was pretty uneventful but it demonstrated one important rule: be realistic. It started off very very well, but mid-morning, one of my colleagues produced some bagels and cream cheese. You see, one of the brands I work for is a Food website: Food To Love. That means lots of my colleagues are total foodies, and it is almost impossible to go a week without cakes, sweets and pastries being presented. So be realistic. You don’t always have to say yes, but you don’t always have to say no either.

If you’re presented with something that looks amazing and it’s a special occasion, go nuts – you only live once. There was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to eat spaghetti con vongole in Venice for instance!

Tuesday’s Food:

Breakfast: Black coffee with cream, San Pellegrino water; Bacon & Beans

The same as yesterday because I’m a creature of habit in the mornings, and it’s too hard to make different things before work!

Lunch: Leftover Slow Cooked Lamb Shank with Potatoes

Dinner: “Spaghetti” bolognese

You can probably guess from the fact that it’s in inverted commas, but we didn’t have this with pasta. We had it with konjac instead. Konjac is a bit of an acquired taste and smells weird when it comes out of the packet, but it’s definitely worth trying. There are barely any calories in it, but more importantly, it’s made from a root vegetable, so it’s paleo, and the texture is pretty similar to pasta.
